September:What happen to Chevron?

                             What happen to Chevron?

Swollen foot
I was out one day and saw that Chevron was  limping I was worried. I looked at the foot he was limping on. I saw it was swollen on his  middle foot.   At first i thought it was something  called bumble foot on Chevron. I show my dad  to see what he thought it was he said it was not  bumble foot I was so reveled to hear that.
But as my dad looked at it he almost thought her  toe was broken cause it seemed lose. She was  still able to move and squeeze it so it was not  broken.
We know it was hurting her because she did not  want to step on it. For now to leave her off her  foot a bit we put her in a different pen than the  others so she could lie down and stay off of it.
She has food ,and water and hay to nest in so she can make herself at home. I hoped for her to get better soon until than i will keep a good eye out
 for her.

August: Where the Chickens Chill Out

Where the Chickens Chill Out

Chickens love to dust bathe its one of my flocks favorite thing. When we had to level out ground to put in the up ground pool. We put all the dirt in a pile near the chicken coop. Now its where a lot love to chill out and cool down. I'm pretty sure they have a great time!

August: Half a Crown

Half a Crown

On are why home from being out I when to go check on the chickens. I made sure we had all of them I only counted 6 of 8 (before we got 8 more). I went looking i found one of them Ken had been hiding behind some plant. I went looking for Polly. We heard clucks but didn't know where they where coming from. We looked under the coop and their she was not knowing where to get out poor Polly. It was easy getting her out we lead her out with her favorite treat meal worms. When she go out she was fine but half of her crown was just hanging off her head. After time passed the part hanging off fell off and healed! But now when you see her you know its her Polly the chicken with half its crown.
she only has 3 studs

We ate eggs all the time for breakfast scramble, omelet, or just a plain fried egg. My parents thought getting chickens would be a great learning responsibility of a different animal. The result fresh egg every morning it's probe the best! The egg are half of the treat the chickens are the second their the funniest thing ever at least my flock is.
